While reading The Dressmaker of Khair Khana.

Desperate to see the movie The Dressmaker, which I will this weekend! I headed to my library to see if they had the book, they did not. But I borrowed instead this book. True life story about a family of sisters living in Kubal, Afghanistan when the Taliban took control. When her father and older brother are forced to leave the city, one sisters determination to keep her younger sisters safe and alive. Through her determination she builds a dressmaking business that not only helps her family but the community around her. This is the book I was reading Friday night! Almost at the part of the attack on the Twin Towers in 01. I believe more understanding is needed for me to have an opinion about what has been happening over the last few days, years, decades. I have thoughts, but way more questions on a world, a culture I will never know, being a simple mother living in Australia.
“Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
So on that note, I have finished this book, what should I read now? Hit me with your favourite books!!!
